Telenor Maritime announces CEO Transition
Arendal, September 5, 2025 — Telenor Maritime today announces a leadership transition as Lars Erik Lunøe steps down after close to seven years as Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, the company has navigated one of the most challenging periods in its history.
Appointed in 2019, Lars Erik Lunøe successfully guided the company through the disruption caused by the global Covid pandemic that had an immediate impact on maritime passenger traffic and thus also on Telenor Maritime's business, providing connectivity to passengers and crew at sea. His leadership and resilience were instrumental in steering the company through recovery, regaining lost ground, and achieving growth beyond pre-pandemic levels. Lars Erik leaves behind a legacy of transformation and dedication to the company and its customers. The Board of Directors and the organization extend their deepest gratitude for his commitment and leadership over these years.
The leadership transition comes as the company continues its mission to transform connectivity at sea and accelerate digitalization across the maritime industry. To lead this evolution, Telenor Maritime is pleased to announce the appointment of Magnus Müller as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1st.
Magnus brings more than 20 years of global leadership experience in the telecommunications sector, with a strong track record in driving commercial growth, digital transformation, and operational excellence across both developed and emerging markets. His career spans senior roles across Scandinavia and Asia, most recently as Chief Business Officer at Telenor Pakistan. Renowned for building high-performing teams and delivering customer-centric innovation, Magnus is well-positioned to lead Telenor Maritime into its next phase of growth.
